Floor scrubbers work hard, and wear-and-tear is normal. From simple mechanical fixes to complex electrical troubleshooting, here are the most common issues we solve for our customers:

Troubleshooting: When to Call a Scrubber Technician

Usually, this means your squeegee blades are worn out, torn, or need adjusting. It can also be caused by a clog in the vacuum hose, a damaged recovery tank lid gasket, or a failing vacuum motor. We recommend checking and wiping down the squeegee first. If that doesn't fix it, you likely need a vacuum or gasket repair.

When your machine stops dispensing solution, start by checking the inline water filter for clogs. If the filter is clean, the issue is likely a faulty solenoid valve that isn't opening when you pull the trigger, or a blockage somewhere in the solution plumbing that needs to be flushed out.

Failing batteries are the most common cause of a machine dying mid-job. However, it could also be a broken battery charger that isn't outputting the correct voltage, severely corroded battery terminals, or a blown fuse in the electrical panel. A proper load test will tell you exactly what is failing.

If the machine drives but the pads or brushes won't spin, you might have a burnt-out brush motor or a broken drive belt. If the scrub deck itself won't lower to the floor, the problem is usually a broken lift actuator or a faulty switch on your control panel.

We recommend a preventative maintenance inspection at least twice a year. In Manitoba, getting a tune-up right before winter and right after the snow melts helps prevent major breakdowns caused by heavy salt, sand, and slush buildup.
